Measuring

Method 1: Opening Size Measurements

Measure your window opening in three places for both width and height. For Inside Mount (IB) openings, always use the smallest measurements. For Inside Mount Z-frames and hanging strips, Elite will take a 1/4" factory deduction to ensure that the unit will easily fit into the opening.

For Inside Mount Shutters, take the diagonal measurements of the opening to confirm it is in square. If the two diagonal measurements differ by more than 1/2", we strongly recommend an Outside Mount (OB) frame option.

Method 2: Net Frame Measurements

Measure the area around the opening that you would like to cover tip to tip. Remember, the footprint of the L-frames is 1 1/2" wide and the Face Mount frame is 4" wide. You can order custom Net Outside Mount frames as required by the application. Make sure to specify "Net Frame Measurements" on the order form.
