Louver Size and Projections
Richwood® Shutters are available with 2 1/2", 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" louver sizes. These elliptical louvers are fully operable and pivot by raising and lowering the attached tilt bar. The panels feature a "no mouse holes" design that allows the louvers to close tightly in both directions. The tilt bar is located on the front of the louver panel. Optional clearview tilt bar mechanism is available upon request.
When in the open position, the louvers project beyond the shutter panel opening). Depending on the size of the louver, the projections are as follows. All measurements reflected in the diagrams are in inches:
| Louver Size | Projection from back of panel | Clearview |
| 2 1/2" | 3/4" | 1 1/8" |
| 3 1/2" | 1 1/4" | 1 5/8" |
| 4 1/2" | 1 3/4" | N/A |
| Louver Size | Projection from front of panel including tilt bar | Clearview |
| 2 1/2" | 1 1/2" | 2 1/8" |
| 3 1/2" | 2" | 2 5/8" |
| 4 1/2" | 2 1/2" | N/A |
If required, louvers may be replaced. Spring-loaded louver trees make it quick and easy to replace single or multiple louvers without dismantling the entire shutter panel.
