Elite offers several
decorative hardware choices to accompany Richwood® Shutter-Lites. Hinges
come as part of a shutter order.
Hinges:
There are four hinge types that are application specific with removable pins:
-Non-mortised
hinge
-Butt hinge
-Wrap hinge
-Universal
Wrap hinge
- In order to
maintain the component integrity and to minimize the cut surfaces, Elite
does not mortise frames or shutter panels.
- Non-mortised
hinges are the standard hinge for mounting panels to a frame.
- Butt hinges
are a no cost option for mounting panels to a wall or frame.
- Butt hinges
are used to attach panels together in bi-fold configurations.
- Wrap hinges
are used to mount panels to a hanging strip or in a direct mount.
- Universal wrap
hinges, or U-wrap hinges, function as non-mortise wrap hinges. In applications
with hanging strip, the U-wrap hinge will save 5/16" in overall gap
on the sides of the panels due to reduced hinge clearance.
- The U-wrap
hinge also allows for direct mounting into the window frame without hanging
strips. The hinge only requires 1 1/4" for flush mounting of the panels.
(Louvers still require additional clearance, depending on louver size.)
- U-wrap hinges
are slotted for vertical and horizontal panel adjustment.
- When using
U-wrap hinges, panels can be opened fully to provide clearance for tilt
windows.
- All non-mortised,
butt and wrap hinges are available in the following colours/finishes:
- Painted White
- Painted Antique White
