Track systems are installed in one of two ways:

• Direct Inside Mount: Directly into the window or door opening if there is enough mounting depth for the tracks and the opening is perfectly square. No additional framing is required.
• Box Out, Inside or Outside Mount: When the original opening doesn't have enough mounting depth, isn't perfectly square or requires an outside mount for another reason.

Bi-Fold Track System

The bi-fold track system allows the versatile bi-fold configuration to be built using larger panels. A single metal track is installed along the top of the window or door opening. Rollers, attached to the tops of the panels, glide within the track. The weight of the panels is therefore distributed throughout the system, reducing the stress placed on the hinges.

The panel unit is fastened to a pivot at the base. This stabilizes the unit and allows for smooth operation. The panels operate in an accordion-like fashion, neatly stacking to the side of the opening when completely drawn.

Bi-Fold Length and Width Specifications

• Bi-fold shutters units are limited to a total of four panels (two hinged panels per side)
• Minimum single panel width of a bi-fold shutter: 12"
• Maximum single panel width of a bi-fold shutter: 30"
• Maximum total width of a bi-fold shutter unit: 120"
• Maximum length of a bi-fold shutter panel: 112"

Bi-fold Window/Door Opening Specifications

• Minimum opening width required for bi-fold track installation: 24"
• Minimum mounting depth required for bi-fold track installation is 1 5/8"
• Add additional depth for box out and louver clearance
