Bypass Track System

The bypass track system utilizes two parallel top tracks. These tracks allow the individual shutter panels to move past each other to completely or partially clear the opening for an outside view.

In shutter units which utilize the bypass track system, the panels are all made the exact same size. The panels will be built based on the size of the window opening and the number of panels requested.

Bypass shutters may be installed with panel guides to keep the panels from touching as they slide past one another on the tracks. Two panel guides are included with every bypass shutter unit. Additional panel guides are available upon request.

Bi-fold Window/Door Opening Specifications

Inside mount window and door openings not deep enough for a bi-fold track system can still accommodate a track with the installation of a box out. Box outs are also appropriate for outside mount applications.

Bypass Length and Width Specifications

• Bypass shutter units are limited to a total of 8 panels
• Minimum single panel width of a bypass shutter: 12"
• Maximum single panel width of a bypass shutter: 30"
• Maximum total width of bypass shutter unit: 192" *
• Maximum length of a bypass shutter panel: 112"

* Bypass track comes in 120" widths. To accommodate shutter units wider than 120", bypass tracks will need to be butted together to create the appropriate length.

Bypass Window/Door Opening Specifications

• Minimum opening width required for bypass track installation: 24"
• Minimum mounting depth required for bypass track installation: 3 3/8"
