Window/Door Opening Specifications
When closed, certain
panels on the front and back tracks overlap slightly. Regardless of the panel
configurations, bypass shutter units will always have a maximum of two panel
overlaps. Shutter
units with the bypass track system do not require panel configuration diagrams
on the Richwood® Shutter-Lite Order form.
Inside mount window
and door openings not wide enough for a bypass track system can still accommodate
a track with the installation of a box out. Box outs are also appropriate
for outside mount applications. There are specific header designs for bi-fold
and bypass track systems due to the different required mounting depths. Box
outs can be built with three or four sides for window or door openings. All
door openings require a three-sided frame to allow clearance along the floor.

clearance of 1" is left on the bottom of bi-fold panels to clear obstructions.
